Packing List for Volunteers
Before you head on out to the ‘City of 5 Seasons,’ please check out our recommended
packing list to ensure that you have brought everything you may need on your trip
(not that there aren’t Wal-Marts or home improvement stores in this town).

Signed volunteer participant liability release form (Bring to orientation)
Clothes – please check the weather
before you pack!
Volunteer clothes (things you don’t mind
getting dirty or getting paint on, we
recommend long sleeve shirts and
long pants)
Remember, the weather in Iowa is always
up in the air, check www.weather.com
for the most up to date weather
information.
Sunglasses, hat or bandana in case you
are working outside or if you don’t want
paint in your hair
Sturdy tennis shoes and/or work boots
Toiletries
Depending on lodging: towel, pillow, sleeping bag, cot or air mattress, shower shoes, flashlight
Medicines/Vitamins/Antacid Tablets
For the work day
Open mind and flexible attitude
Packed lunch and/or snacks
Plenty of drinking water
Camera and batteries
Free time entertainment (journal, cards, books…)
Insect repellant
Sunscreen (maybe not in the winter, but in the summer even Iowa can get warm)
Tools! We have tools, but depending upon your project we may have a limited amount of the tools needed to complete the project. In order to prevent mix-ups (Ours are marked with white paint).
